Types of Members

BoogieBoard has three types of members corresponding to levels of access and permissions.

Admins

Admins have full control over everything within a Workspace. They can create, update, and delete workspaces, manage membership, and configure system-level settings that affect all users. Admins are the only members authorized to invite or remove members or other admins, assign roles, and adjust access levels across the Workspace.

In addition to managing users, Admins have full visibility into authentication and security configuration, including Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity provider integrations. They can also access usage analytics, data source connections, and workspace-wide preferences such as naming conventions, branding, and integrations with external systems. In short, Admins ensure the Workspace remains organized, secure, and aligned with organizational policies.

Members

Members are invited to the Workspace by an Admin and typically represent operations or revenue team users who actively design, analyze, and manage territories. Members have full visibility into all Scenarios, Data Sources, and Territory Models within the Workspace.

While Members can create and modify scenarios, edit data, and contribute to the ongoing design process, they cannot delete Workspaces, Scenarios, or Data Sources. Their permissions are designed to enable collaboration and experimentation without compromising the integrity or availability of core Workspace resources. Members can freely explore, model, and iterate on territory structures while staying aligned with organizational data and governance settings established by Admins.

Collaborators

Collaborators are users who sit outside the core territory design team but still play a key role in reviewing and refining territories. These users are granted access to specific Scenarios and Nodes by Admins or Members, allowing them to participate without full Workspace permissions. Their access is limited: Collaborators can view and interact only with the nodes assigned to them and any child nodes that fall beneath those in the hierarchy.

Collaborators can comment on, make changes to, and approve the nodes they have access to, providing valuable feedback from the field directly within BoogieBoard. This role is ideal for stakeholders such as regional managers, sales leaders, and account executives who need visibility into their specific territories for collaboration and review, without being exposed to the entire Workspace or unrelated design data.
