What is a Scenario?

A Scenario is your workspace for designing and testing territory plans. Think of it as a complete territory planning experiment that you can build, test, and eventually push live.

Each Scenario includes:

• A Territory Model that represents your GTM hierarchy structure.
• A Data Source consisting of your entire universe of accounts to be distributed.
• A set of Roles and Role Assignments that represent the territories and people within your GMT.
• A collection of Balancing Goals and locking criteria that informs the BoogieBoard algorithm what “good” territories look like.
• A configuration of Quotas, Capacity, and Effective Dates for each role.

Why Scenarios?

The Scenario paradigm allows the user to create and compare many different GTM proposals while territory planning. Oftentimes users will analyze the differences in configurations like:

• Segmentation lines
• Geographical configuration
• Balance Goals and locking criteria

Scenarios make it easy to quickly create these account distributions and compare how different parameters create different outcomes.

When to create separate scenarios

Use different scenarios when you're testing fundamentally different approaches:
