Territories are the structural backbone of your sales planning strategy. They define how accounts are grouped, assigned, and balanced across your go-to-market team. Whether you’re assigning based on firmographics, location, or a mix of both, BoogieBoard gives you full control over how territories are modeled and executed.
This section introduces the three core territory strategies supported in BoogieBoard:
Each method serves different planning needs, and BoogieBoard supports all of them using the same rule engine, balancing goals, and assignment tooling.
Before defining a territory, it’s important to understand how Roles, the Territory Model, and Nodes interact within BoogieBoard. You can review those foundational concepts in the related sections below.
A Territory Node is created automatically when a territory owner type Role is assigned to a parent node within the Territory Model. This assignment designates that node as an active territory within your scenario.
In other words, territories are not manually created objects, they emerge from your structure. When you assign a Territory Owner role to a node, BoogieBoard recognizes that node as a territory for the purposes of balancing, coverage, and quota distribution.
