Importing Roles from Salesforce

Creating New Roles


Roles can be created in the Roles View by clicking the “Create Role” button. Clicking the button opens the Role Creation Form.

Name Name of the role which will be displayed across the application.

Role Type Dropdown list containing the three BoogieBoard role types.

Description Optional internal notes about the role. This field is for reference only and has no functional impact.

Linked Roles Multi-selection field. Use the field to search for values, click to add, delete the tag to remove

Role Naming Best Practices


BoogieBoard’s role system is flexible by design, and this flexibility is extendable through consistent, scalable naming conventions. Proper role naming makes it easier to design balanced territories, configure automation rules, and implement advanced concepts like Role Linking covered in the next section.

Whether you’re designing your first territory model or expanding an existing one, role names should reflect organizational hierarchy or functional level, rather than regional or segment-specific qualifiers.

The name you give to each role isn’t just cosmetic, it defines how BoogieBoard organizes and distributes accounts. Role names are used to:
