What Are Balancing Goals?

Balance goals describe how BoogieBoard should balance accounts and territories so your future-state plans reflect the outcomes of your Go-To-Market desires. They power the BoogieBoard Balancing Engine, current-vs-future comparisons, and the pivot tables that summarize changes across your go-to-market team.

They are the rules and criteria that BoogieBoard uses to distribute accounts fairly and strategically across your sales territories. Think of them as the intelligence behind your territory assignments—they tell the system how to balance workload, respect capacity limits, and prioritize distribution based on your Go-To-Market goals.

Why balance goals matter

Getting started

  1. Navigate to the Balancing Goals menu item in the Node navigational menu.
  2. Click “New Goal” and choose the goal type (Balance Goal for property distributions, Limiting Goal for caps, Scoring Goal for Prioritized routing).
  3. Pick the property or metric you want to balance. Any field from your scenario Data Source is available.
  4. Define the target and tolerances that express success, then choose which territories the goal should affect.
  5. Preview the impact in the goal summary, run the Balancing Engine, and review the current-vs-future comparison and pivot tables to validate the results.
